OZZIE LOPEZ

"I HAD BEEN RUNNING ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK FOR YEARS, BUT ONCE I SAW THE COMMUNITY SIDE OF IT, I BECAME HOOKED."
" I HAVE COMPLETED OVER 20 MARATHONS AND ULTRAMARATHONS. THE RACE ISN'T ABOUT ONE SINGLE DAY, IT'S ABOUT THE JOURNEY THAT LED YOU TO TOE THE START LINE."

We want to give a voice to all the runners that RUN the LA running scene, so we collaborated with Ozzie Lopez for our latest campaign.

Ozzie has been running for a total of 12 years, and within that time has completed a total of 20 marathons and Ultramarathons. He got into running when he was working for a sports company; one day he decided to go out for a run together with his co-workers and instantly fell in love with the community aspect the sport offered. Fast forward to now…he has evolved and made running his career and core passion, leading with persistence and discipline.

" A MISCONCEPTION ABOUT RUNNING THAT I THINK NEEDS TO CHANGE, IS THAT RUNNING IS BAD FOR YOUR KNEES. I LIKE TO TELL PEOPLE THAT INACTIVITY AND RUNNING INCORRECTLY IS BAD FOR YOUR KNEES. I ALWAYS SUGGEST THAT ANYONE JUST GETTING INTO RUNNING, TAKE A LITTLE TIME TO DO SOME RESEARCH, FIND A SHOE THAT WORKS FOR THEM, AND START SMALL."

He’s a vetted personal trainer and coaches and runs with Movement Runners. Ozzie is a skilled runner who has incredible form and is extremely light in his feet. He has always trained as an athlete, so it’s no wonder he’s giving back to train and coach other runners and help them further excel is the sport too.

He’s currently training for the Rock'N'Roll San Diego half marathon. His goal for the race is to sub 1:40!

Ozzie is someone special to watch out for and train with, he highlights to us that running helped him to see challenges as opportunities rather that obstacles, and to Ozzie Lopez that is symbolic of everything in life.
